#93 and #94 have completely revised. Categories #95 and #, 96 are
NEW. ALL entrants will be issued a randomly
computer generated identification number. This number may ONLY be obtained by registering in the BOLI 35 Electronic Entry System
channel: http://boli-awards.org. The ONLY categories to be
traditionally mounted are: Categories #1 through #10, and #75, #76,
#77, 78, and #79. For all other categories, entries are to be submitted in clear
plastic envelopes. Entries may be
submitted by advertisers, advertising agencies, creative services, photographers,
printers, web developers, marketing, PR firms, sales promotion agencies
non profit firms or associations whether or not they are members of The Long
Island Advertising Club, Inc. and whose entries have been
created in or whose businesses
are located in If an entry is submitted by a third party,
the entrants’ client (agency or advertiser), must either have their corporate offices (headquarters) located in within the above defined areas. If a third party submits an entry in the
same category which has also been entered by an agency or advertiser, the third
party’s submission may be withdrawn from the competition and the entry fee will be
returned. In alls cases, the advertiser will be the arbiter of the entry's status. Materials
submitted as part of a campaign may also be entered individually in
any category for which it qualifies. All entries must have been initially inserted, run, distributed, or created between January
1, 2007 and December 31, 2007.
Entries submitted for
previous BOLI competitions are not eligible, except
where specified. Entries not meeting
the above requirements will be disqualified.
The LIAC reserves the right to require the return of award(s) for any entries
that may have been erroneously presented or if any fees connected with competition
have not been paid. In conjunction with the BOLI
Awards, the LIAC will conduct a "Student
BOLI" competition. It is open to all students of
communications, marketing, and enrolled at colleges or universities located in Certificates of Excellence will be awarded
to both students and their schools. A Student BOLI statue will be awarded to
the school of the winning entrant(s). In addition, $ 3,000 with a limit of $ 500 per student, will be awarded
through the advertising firm of Students who are to receive awards must
pick them up on the evening of the BOLI Awards dinner or arrange to have them
picked up. If they do not, their awards are forfeit. All entries must be submitted before 4:00

competition client is: Sorting will be held Saturday, February 02,
2008 at King Kullen's corporate
head- quarters in The BOLI
Sorting & Judging chairwoman, Ms.
Jane Delgado, will supervise this event. At that time, all entries will be
reviewed by a validation team(s),
comprised of at least three people. They will review
all entries, and if in their opinion, an entry has been placed into the wrong category,
it will be moved to the proper category without penalty to the entering party. If an entry can not be
transferred to any of the published categories, it will be
disqualified. Decisions by the chair and validation team(s) are final. Entry fees are not refundable. Advertising, Marketing, and Internet professionals, who work
outside the Long Island market and are not connected with the Long Island
Advertising Club, will be empanelled as BOLI judges.
A team of judges will be assigned to judge each category. The
judges will vote independently and score each entry on a point
system, with
ZERO being the lowest and TEN being
the highest, as follows: 1. ( 0 ) to ( 10 ) for : Overall
Creative Excellence. 2. ( 0 ) to ( 10 ) for : Execution
of Concept. Judges will be asked to revisit
all first place ties. At their discretion, the tie may be left standing or broken. If
broken, the entry designated not the winner, will be awarded a Gold Certificate of Excellence. Judging of Internet categories, Section C, will be done online by a
select Number
of professionals drawn from the Internet community. Entries will be judged on a total possible
score of THIRTY based on SIX criteria with ZERO being the lowest and FIVE being the highest.
Each entry will be scored as follows: 1. (
0 ) to ( 5 ) for: Overall
Creative Excellence 2. (
0 ) to ( 5 ) for: Visual
Creative Design 3. (
0 ) to ( 5 ) for: Content 4. (
0 ) to ( 5 ) for: Functionality 5. (
0 ) to ( 5 ) for: Structure/Navigation 6. (
0 ) to ( 5 ) for: Interactivity Based on the judges’ cumulative
scores in each category, designated finalists will qualify for a BOLI Statue or one of three designated Certificates of Excellence: Gold, Silver, or Bronze. The accounting firm of Grant
Thorton, LLP will certify the judges scores for all categories decisions of the judges, as
verified by Grant Thorton, LLP are final. The Long Island Advertising Club assumes
all entries are original and are the works and property of the entrant, with
all rights granted within. The LIAC is not responsible for copyright
infringement on the part of the entrant. BOLI
Finalists will be
notified at the LIAC’s March 11th. General Meeting, and
will be listed on the Long Island Ad Club's web site. Finalists will, at their discretion, have the option to submit a mounted entry of their finalist entry(s) for display at the BOLI Awards show.
A
BOLI statuette along with two companion
Certificates of Excellence, signifying the Best of Category, will be awarded in each
category if appropriate. In
addition, Gold, Silver, and Bronze
Certificates of Excellence will be awarded, as appropriate, in each Category. ALL
Statues and Certificates of Excellence will be available for pickup at the
awards
show. A shipping Fee of $50.00 plus carrier charges will be imposed for
statue(s)
and $10.00 plus carrier charges for EACH Certificate of Excellence NOT
picked
up at the awards show. If the shipping and handling charges for the above item(s)
are NOT paid in advance by June 30, 2008, the awards will be destroyed. Entrants, who wish to purchase an additional statue for presentation to a Client should they win a category(s), must
indicate the desire to do so at the time
they enter the
competition. In
order to reserve the purchase of additional statue(s), a credit card
name, name of
cardholder, card number, and expiration date is required when initially entering the
competition The credit card charge will be
exercised the day after the Awards.

$ 175.00 per statue. There is NO
charge for additional Certificates but the Supply

) All extra Certificates
will be destroyed on June 1, 2008 The BOLI Awards Presentation will be held
tentatively Tuesday, May 13, 2008. Cost of event ticket(s) will be announced
by special bulletin and on the LIAC’s web site no later than December 15, 2007 ONLY
FULL page FOUR color ads will be accepted for the BOLI Journal. Run of Book cost: $1,000.00, 2nd & 3rd covers are $1,200.00. 4th cover
$1,500.00 All mounted finalist entries will be
exhibited during the awards presentation as practical.
The BOLI committee reserves the right to limit the number of items exhibited,
and require duplicate entries when necessary. All print entries declared finalists will
be published in the BOLI Awards Journal. In
addition, all finalist entries will be archived on the Club’s web site.
Internet entries will
have a URL address. Radio, TV and Interactive entries will be represented by a visual,
if supplied. There will be a charge of $10.00
per finalist entry. These charges will
be exercised after April 1, 2008
as indicated on
your Entry Summary Form. Should
you need electronic images to be photographed, Brenner Photo Productions will
do so for BOLI Finalists
at a very special BOLI
competition rate of $15.00 per
entry. 09. General Entry Requirements Each entry, except Internet entries, must
be individually identified with two official
entry labels: Front
label contains: Headline,
Category Number, Entrant’s ID Number and a numbered sequence area for campaign
categories #01 thru #10, and category #88
. This label is to be attached to the upper
right hand corner of the FRONT of the plastic entry envelope or the black matte board
of a mounted entry. The Back
label contains the Entrant’s ID Number and Category Number. It is to be attached to the BACK of the entry itself, the back of the matte board of a mounted entry, on the FRONT
of a TV cassette(s) or CD-ROM(s). In addition to the individual labeled
entries, any item entered in more than one category must both be listed
and entered separately for each category into which it is entered. All appropriate fees are required to
accompany your entries when submitted. One
copy of the electronic entry forms must be enclosed with the entries and must be
securely affixed to the outside of the entry package in a brightly colored
envelope. All entry fees, paid by check, or a copy
of the electronic payment(s), or a credit card number with expiration date, must be
included with your entries. If more than one package is submitted,
plainly mark and number the packages in sequence, example: (1 of 3, 2 of 3)
etc. You may pick up your
plastic entry bags on or after Monday, January 14th. 2008. All ENTRIES with ENTRY FORM copies must be physically received by Friday,

Labels: Each entry must have two
labels attached. Front

of the entry itself if it is a TV cassette or a CR-ROM. When
entering electronically, both front & back labels will be provided with all
required
entry information. The

The Electronic entry system will be open
for entries at 10:00AM, Monday, January 7, 2008. Follow
the step by step instructions. This process will conclude by your printing out all
the necessary filled out forms (entry, financial, and entry labels) which will
allow you
to complete the entry process quickly. A
second record of ALL entry information will be sent to you via E-mail. Keep
this e-mail receipt on your desktop as it will allow you to print out additional
labels if needed. We suggest you print out one copy for
your files. The
system is set up for you to pay by credit card via secure channel or you may choose

qualify for Early Bird member entry
fees, Club dues must have been paid on
